Basic Science & Humanities

As it is the bed rock of engineering, it facilitates learning among students to understand the structure, electrical and chemical properties of Electrical and Electronic materials. It further helps to understand properties of metals and alloys, composition of alloys, its stability, and reactivity etc. The department is equipped with state-of-art instruments required to carry out modern day chemistry and Physics. The students are provided a comprehensive practical exposure to the various instrumental techniques required for their studies.

Whereas, Basic Sciences form a bridge between basic sciences and engineering, Humanities is actively engaged in teaching ‘English for Professional Communication’, General Proficiency, Engineering Economics and Human Values papers. It has Language Laboratories to develop communication skills as well. The Department assists in conducting different technical programme and work shop in different departments. Overall, the department provides value-based knowledge and liberal and scientific education to budding engineers so that they can become professionals with a different competency and outlook to face the challenges ahead in every walk of life.

Vision
  • To prepare students for engineering studies.
  • To provide value-based knowledge and liberal and scientific education.
  • To make the students linguistically and generally proficient.
Mission
  • To foster scientific acumen and temper in the budding engineers.
